This month’s instalment of Maine Movies focuses not on a singular film but rather a collection of works. While this is old news to most Maine residents, it may come as a surprise to many others. Stephen King is one of Maine’s most prolific and famous authors, and the state is a favoured setting of his. Naturally, this extends to the movies based on his works as well, with films such as “IT”, “Pet Sematary”, “The Shawshank Redemption”, and more all taking place in Maine. In fact, it is faster to count the number of King’s stories that do not take place in Maine than those that do!
