Buchanan Alumni House – Maine Day
Maine Day is a long-standing tradition at the University of Maine. The students get to enjoy a Wednesday off from classes and participate in endeavors designed to improve their campus. It is a day of volunteering that is mixed with other fun activities like oozeball. Here at Buchanan, we are very fortunate to have a large student participation rate on Maine Day. Each year the four Honor Societies – All Maine Women, Senior Skulls, Sophomore Eagles, and Sophomore Owls – put on their work clothes, don gloves, pick up shovels, and put mulch on all of the gardens surrounding Buchanan Alumni House. The atmosphere of the day is fantastic – no matter the weather. We hope this tradition continues for many years to come!
